Actual Knitting Content

After what feels like an eternity I have actual knitting content to share. Here is my recently completed Kiri shawl all dry and ready to be soaked and blocked.

I soaked Kiri in cool water in the sink for 30 minutes, rolled it in a towel to remove the excess moisture then, with Dave's help, pinned it to my modular foam square blocking system. It's huge. No matter how many times I block lace I'm amazed every time.

Here is a modified Nantasket that I knitted while I was in Memphis. Sadly I did not run into any fellow knitters. I think everyone was at Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival. The basket is on a large coffee can for scale. The plan is to felt it tomorrow while washing towels. I also have a little yellow coaster for my belated April Project Spectrum item. At least I knitted it in April.

I feel like the drought is over, well hopefully it's over. I made it through my one month Stashalong self imposed yarn buying stoppage. Right now I'm trying to regroup and rethink my summer knitting goals.

That shawl is BEAUTIFUL! Wow! Really, WOW. And using the foam squares for a blocking surface is pure genius. I have no idea how I’m going to block my Adamas (if I ever finish it that is).

I bought my sqares at JoAnn's with one of the 40% off coupons they send in the mail if you are on the mailing list. You can get bigger and more expensive ones at toy stores. It's been a great blocking solution for me at a much lower cost then the $80.00 blocking boards I've seen online.

Looking forward to unpinning Kiri so I can really show off the koolaid dyed yarn.

You will finish the Adams, just keep plinking away! :-)
