Merry Christmas

The Holiday knitting is done. I knitted a number of felted bowls to gift to friends and family, a pair of Fetching mitts for Coleen, a recycled bag bag for my SIL and two Hedgies for non Christmas but around Christmastime gifts. I did not finish a knitted K-9 toy for Evelyn but she has a Princess Throne that I think will eclipse all other things in existence.

This has been a hard year for our family. Somehow we have pulled through the dark times together. My knitting has proved to be not only fun but therapeutic.

I have one more knitting related gift to arrange. Grandma Janette, the former knitter, has expressed an interest in knitting again. I've been asked to assemble a little basket for her with needles and some yarn for a very simple garter stitch scarf. I've been thinking really hard about the yarn. Grandma had gourmet taste in yarn back in the day. I want to pick something yummy, easy to see, soft on the hands and easy to knit. I've been thinking Manos del Uruguay but am not sure. I'm thinking I will call her and ask what color she would like to work with and if she would like worsted or bulky weight.

I am going to include a little ball of recycled sari silk yarn and the leftover Blue Moon Leticia if only for her to hold and pet.

A Very Merry Christmas to all who celebrate.
