Green Anklets=FO
Finished the Green Anklets tonight while watching night Three of the Democratic National Convention. I love these socks. Wearing handknitted socks feels so deliciously decadant.
I'm getting better at the kitchener stitch, only needed the knitty directions printed up in front of me, did not need to check out the instructional video this time. Stephanie's Basic Sock Recipe creates a very pointy looking toe when the socks are not on feet. I'd read that somewhere online and mine are also pointy.
I bought the Claudia Handpaint yarn I used for these anklets about a year ago during a very dark time for our family. A year later I am a different person, a different Mother. I have different friends from this time last year. I mourn our loss but I celebrate our strength and the blessings we have.
I also have a Kindergartner. After a bit of confusion on my part this morning we got her on the bus and back home. She danced and twirled into the house after school.
"Oh Momma there are too many exciting things to share."
I hope she retains that enthusiasm for learning. She is at times my frustration but more often my joy.
In other knitting news I went through my Ravelry Queue tonight. Also cleaned up my things to knit list over on the sidebar. Oh my neglected sidebar.
I collected yarn, needles and the pattern for a Cobblestone for Dave. It will be in the same Barn Red as H's Weasley Sweater. I'm envisioning Daddy/Son pictures with them wearing their sweaters.
I'm debating what to cast on next. I want to wait until it is officially September to cast on my Karen Hat KAL hat. I'm a bit bored with Rambling Rows. Maybe a Urchin hat or Cobblestone.
