There are Three Ways to Vote in Ohio
In order to vote in Ohio you must be
Registered to Vote. The Deadline to Register to Vote in Ohio is
October 6th.
There is a window between September 30th and October 5 where you can Register and Vote Early In-Person here in Ohio.
For example in
FRANKLIN County you can go to Vet's Memorial to Vote Early in Person.
To vote an absent voter ballot for the November 4, 2008 General Election in person before Election Day, go to Franklin County Veterans Memorial located at 300 West Broad Street in downtown Columbus.
- Weekday Hours: Monday through Friday from 8 AM until 7 PM beginning September 30 and ending November 3.
- Saturday Hours: From 8 AM until 5 PM on October 4, 11, 18, 25 and November 1.
- Sunday Hours: From 1 PM until 5 PM on October 5, 12, 19, 26, and November 2.
Early In-Person and Absentee Voting
- The last four digits of voter’s Social Security number; or driver's license number; or
- A copy of a current and valid photo identification, (i.e. Ohio driver’s license, state ID card, government ID). Photo identification must show name and address; or
- A copy of a current utility bill (including cell phone bill), bank statement, paycheck, government check, or other government document that shows the voter’s name and current address (including from a public college or university).

Vote Early by Mail The Franklin County Board of Elections is already mailing out Absentee Ballot Request forms. We received ours earlier this week. If you have not received your Absentee Ballot Request form you can
check your Registration. Same ID requirements apply as for Voting Early In-Person.
Ohio law requires all voters to present a valid ID to vote. There are seven acceptable forms of ID, you only need ONE.
1. Current and valid Ohio Driver's License or Ohio State Photo ID card. These ID's may be used eve if the address is not current.
2. Military ID that shows your name
Any of the following forms of ID are valid only if they show your name and current address
3. Utility Bill, including a cell phone bill
4. Bank Statement
5. Government Check
6. Payroll Check
7. Other Government Document Including from a Public College or University
Board of Election Notices cannot be used as ID.
