Lighten The Load

In knitting news I'm making slow and steady progress on the Recycled Bag Bag strap. Not much else to report.

In Apartment Therapy 'The Cure" news I polished the silver yesterday. We don't have much, a few small family pieces from my Dad's side, from a bygone era. Since it's not that much to polish I actually enjoy it, there's something about wiping away the tarnish to uncover the happy, shiny sliver.

Tonight Dave put the baby stuff in the car to take it to a PEO sister's church tomorrow. Sue counsels a Single Mom's group at her church. So her group will have first dibs on the baby loot. This has been hard, letting go of the baby gear. I still have several boxes of clothing I'm keeping, the extra cute items I want to keep. I have pictures of the kids wearing the clothes and using the gear. It's still hard. It's like the end of a chapter and the beginning of another.

Also for the Cure I'm going through past office records, old receipts, paid gas bills, that stuff. We had stuff going back to 1999, the time of my last great purge. It was like looking at another life. Apartments and cars long gone, tiny little piles of medical papers, the floor plan to our first apartment. The receipt for my Mom's Headstone. The loan paperwork for Dave's first car signed by his Dad. I have two more boxes to go then it will be time for a shredding party.

Life was so different before we had E & H. Children bring the greatest joy and the deepest sorrow. I would not trade them for anything.
